DISTRICT GOALS
To help the Squaw Peak District achieve its mission of helping unit leaders and chartered organizations deliver a quality scouting program to the boys and young men, we have set the following goals for our District.
Goal #1: The National Quality Unit Award requires units to meet minimum standards. These standards include having trained leaders, two deep leadership, an outdoor program, using boy leadership, using a planned program and performing service.
When a scout unit qualifies by meeting these minimum standards, the young men benefit by having a well rounded scouting experience.
Goal #2: Boys' Life Magazine is one of the best tools available to help the young men relate what they do in Scouting to the rest of the world around them. It also makes it easier for us as scout leaders to make our "scout lessons" interesting to the young men. Boys' Life is a quality magazine that competes well with other "less desirable" literature and televison programs that do not build men like Scouting does. We can all promote the use of Boy's Life as we work with the youth and with their parents so that they know something better is out there and available to us.
